The original ‘trucker jacket’! The Levi’s denim jacket, originally crafted to be worn by cowboys, miners, and railroad workers from the late 19th century and onwards, eventually evolved in the latest adoption, the iconic type III, or also known now as the ‘trucker jacket’.
However, it took a group of Japanese denim collectors, armed with an obsessive approach to American style, to transform the Type 3 into a legend when they coined the jacket’s common term: the Trucker. These Americana aficionados from overseas were the first to notice that truckers were actually wearing in the Type 3’s the best because they were putting their jackets through hell out on the road, and they actually come out looking better for it.
So, keep on truckin’!
Levi's original vintage made in USA 'big E' type III denim jacket. Tag size 38
Nice mid-wash fade with a bit of a greenish cast. All original period patches throughout and chainstitched roses on the back. Nice detail is also the irregular fault in the denim fabric on the backside. Something that you wouldn't see anymore today, as everything's being produced on big mass-production looms.
