Japanese Showa era noragi work jacket in a rare gingham check pattern.
c. 1930's - 1950's
Hand-stitched from selvedge cottons. Noragi work jackets weren't made for fashion but for life, worn through farmwork and daily labor. The lining holds an unexpected story: it is made from a tenugui (traditional Japanese hand towel). A quiet testament to the resourcefulness of the era, nothing wasted, everything repurposed.
